IM FINALLY HERE! I have arrived and Rome is everything I could have imagined and more.

Yesterday we had a full day of orientation activities. We took a tour of campus, received our student IDs and took care of our permits to stay. I finally met my new roommates who had been stuck in the JFK airport for over 24 hours (yikes). We all went to dinner where I had an amazing pizza with sausage and potatoes, and we all spilt a bottle of Prosecco (salud!)

Today we took a tour of Fracassi (a small town in the hills of Rome) where we took a tour and tasted some of the local delicacies. After that we toured a vineyard, wine cellar, and had a wine tasting. Later we had a huge lunch with many different appetizers, pizza, and pasta. Needless to say I took a nice nap on the ride back to Rome.

Once we got back to our apartment I planned my first weekend trip (Barcelona for my 21st Bday!) We are still planning our other weekends (possibly Budapest, Prague, and Norway.) After a wonderful dinner with friends we capped the night off with some gelato (my first in Italy!)

We have another long day ahead tomorrow so Ciao for now!

xo,

Peyton

PS: I finally received my new Italian phone number (text me for my new number).
